indeed. I ponder what kind of world we are going into where kids and grandkids don't know a hex wrench from an ampere... Where they have no clue why the sky is blue, or what the 11 yr sunspot cycle is, much less about the hazards of a coronal mass ejection. They may smile at the northern lights but can they explain how and why they are there. Don't even get me started on medical things they don't know. simple things like where digitalis is from, or why the daily ration in the British navy was gin and tonic..for the sailors exposed to the diseases of malnutrition as well as malaria, fevers. etc. Hint - the parents of the kids don't know either. I guess they plan to use CHAT GPT to write their school papers..but hint - My teacher daughters have a way to snoop that out and make them do it again themselves. not Cheat
