At a recent Surgical meeting in Texas we were standing around having a refreshment in-between surgical papers being delivered/commentaries on those papers. Since it is Texas we started talking about pasture management. Yes, verily..it centered on fertilizer prices. Yes —spoken from those of us experiencing it, fertilizer prices went from double to triple now four times what they were last year. You Americans who think your meat just magically appears wrapped in plastic, cheaply are in for a shock.. I was walking the aisles at our local “lo income” grocery store and picked up a cows tongue. Normally - trash meat but actually “la lingua” is fantastic. Best meat ever for morning breakfast tacos. But the price tag said 10 dollars A POUND. That three pound tongue was thirty bucks. Dang- how can that immigrant family who were promised milk and honey by the democrats, afford that? I set it back down carefully.
