Throwing out the Hippocratic oath

Enter Wokeism. And a tale about zinc.

When I was a medical student there was a lot of jabbering about throwing out the part of the Hippocratic oath that involved causing an abortion. Boy has it gotten worse.

Kids today in medical school are no different than Hitler jungen. Screeching out insane comments about the American history and attribution about who is being persecuted.

Read the article but be SURE and read the comments that follow the article. I bet a lot of comments didn’t make it through the woke gristmill.. But know that many of the older docs like me (I graduated med school 1972) are incensed. Granted over 70% of doctors go to work for an institution now. Private practice is so “white” and “Criminal”.. Young clinic paid doctors are more interested in the break times, when they get off, how many hours they “work”… But they sure do follow guidelines well when written by the feds, or the “academics leadership.”

If you are a patient in a system that does that kind stuff.. you have a big problem. As I have said before.— Ask your doc if he is in American Medical Association (AMA). If yes, then “Why?” You might point out only 17% of American doctors belong to the AMA - last time I checked.

Be ready for big changes (fundamentally change America” - sound familiar?? ) Look for the grey haired doctors and nurses.. They likely will save your bacon in a pinch while the youngsters take a break to google how to diagnosis your symptoms. Not kidding… I once asked four medical students a simple question.. “Tell me about mixed metalloprotease and aneurysms.” One knew.. High five!. Then “Tell me about the different metalloproteases and how they affect aneurysm formation?” Crickets.. Okay folks, then a simple question, what is the metal in mixed metalloproteases? See there is a hint.. metal!”.. AND it is the metal in the greatest number of enzymes in the body.. -hint hint. - crickets. Zinc. you guys! Zinc. As they were googling away on their cellphones for answers I thought.. “bet they never thought a grey haired old surgeon from a prior millennium who operates and does ancient operations like open AAA repair, cardiac valve replacement… etc… was going to ask them about enzymes.:”

And this was way before COVID.. and now we know the importance of zinc in that disease… here I have been taking it since 1972 when Col. Hagood told us about blood vessel wall health.. you can google all that later, but first look at where American medicine is headed…..

Know that I have been following these substack posts as well as others and find more and more are disappearing into the ether (sometimes I find them in my junk mail) and some of my subscribers never seem to get my posts. That being said.. I fear Substack may have gone the way of all those other leftist controlled communication outlets for conservatives. Will stay on it on my end. For Now.

I do have other options where I have much more control. Literally at the server level. Nuff said here…
