Sidney Secular nails down the division in America. Yes, even in Free Texas I have seen drivers wearing several masks. And a plastic face shield. Driving their car with the windows rolled up. Alone. —- because they might come across an unvaxxed but otherwise well human being. Who is insane in this? Not the maskless healthy guy.
The good point made is that conservatives wish to conserve that of the past which has been shown from experience to work. Progressives want to believe in untested policies and cultural norms which would create an ideal society - thus they are the ideologues and subject to all sorts of alternate realities and fantasies that are not repeatable and/or have been shown unworkable. Utopian progressivism completely ignores the sin nature of man’s imperfections. This is why God is not and can’t be part of their reality; and, therein lies the root of the problem.
