This is so on point. Prosociality is the blind acceptance of actions “required” and pushed by government agencies. And it trickles down in medicine to the Associations, the Boards, the hospitals and their administrator lackeys. “Thou shalt!” is another way to say it.
In California it now appears that a doctor may lose his license (as a criminal offense) if he just questions or disagrees with something a guy in a tie or a lady in a fancy scarf is pontificating from a podium via the FAKE NEWS media. Please just turn it off.
Always ask your doctor questions. If he is too “busy” to talk to you, find another doctor. I cannot tell you how many older people came to see me as a cardiac surgeon and asked me to explain what their primary care said..When I asked the patient “well what did he say??” the very common answer was.. Oh - he is too busy and had to leave so he didn’t have time to talk to me.. Poor folks have been hoodwinked into those type of doctors offices. Sometimes because the billboard on the highways says that the “XYX clinic is in the top 5% of US hospitals!” Total BS, Totally a bought advertisement. Not true..
OR even worse.. the older person has been sold a “Medicare replacement.” Boy do I need to do a Substack on that!.. Point is, it sounds too good to be true.. and you know the rest of that saying….. But the Medicare replacement - LOCKS the patient into a certain set of doctors and they are trapped in the system and cannot simply go to any doctor they want and expect their fancy insurance to pay. This is that season. Ask questions before you make any changes to your Medicare coverage. Have your kids help you with it as they may have further insight than you do. Really.
Here is Dr Mercola’s superb piece today. Solid.
