Clearly, mathemeticians deal in absolute numbers.. Two plus two always equals four. Never seven. So when a PhD in mathematics takes on a topic to discuss a topic, it is probably a good idea to follow The Logic.. when trying to figure “THE” science. I can assure you that if Dr Fauci says “I am the Science” it only proves his insanity. Ditto many of the major leaders of academic institutions, hospitals, State and Federal agencies. When I discussed operations I proposed and advised to my patients I gave them information on complications, poor outcomes, likelihood of injury etc and many times quoted sources for them to read. As I got older, wrote more papers myself and read papers from institutions I had worked out I began to realize.. “that isn’t what I observed” - I often quoted a popular medical comment amongst doctors in the coffee lounge… “Figures lie and Liars figure”… I had seen it too often. I found myself pitching NEJM, BJM, even Am J Surg in the trash very quickly. The number of articles that were just “wrong” in my observation increased to fill more and more of the pages. Not to mention the advertisements.
Point is.. Ask your doctor questions. If he honestly says “I don’t know” then trust him. If he says “I’m too busy to talk and must go…” find another doctor.
But back to Dr Linday’s YouTube piece. Granted it is long - but if you have time to watch it.. it is worth it. He is amazing - IMHO.
