Goalposts? Boundary lines? Always changing

So, we have always heard about changing the rules in middle of the game, or moving goalposts after your kicker has kicked. Democrats and “Deep State” infamous for setting up people to suddenly be doing something illegal. Like. invite the Trump crowd into the Congress, open the 6.5 ton brass doors from the inside - “come on in” and the claim criminal trespass and they are in jail for >1 year.. I call it the American Gulag.

Why in the world would the non political American Radio Relay League (ARRL) put out a statement cautioning amateur radio operators that use of radios in an illegal fashion could resulted in fines and jail time? Yeh, we sorta know that. Heck during WWII most ham radio operators signed up to serve in the military cause they knew morse code and radio “stuff” - Like Mr Spielberg, ham radio operator — in the 490th bomb squadron with my dad in the China Burma India Theatre. Yes same Spielberg whose son was so impressed with his fathers service he did a WWII type movie.. “Saving Private Ryan”. Or another ham radio operator, General Curtis LeMay - who put together the HF SSB link system for US Strategic command. The same LeMay who was my patient during Air Force days. Yes - I sat and talked with him about ham radio and NO, I absolutely did not ask him to put out his cigar in the hospital room.

Point is that the Deep State is slowly moving goal posts. A simple phrase spoken into the microphone, like “Let’s Go Brandon” or “Democrats are idiots” may not violate free speech, but is you transmit it they may come take your ham radio license, or your AM Station license if you have a right wing leaning station like KTEM here in Temple Texas.
