This is scary! I always thought that eminent domain pertained to poor old Joe who had a house on the corner lot. Then city or state planners decided to widen the street, add cross walks and a stop light, so they “condemn” some of joes property and take it from him after the arrive at a reasonable deal on what to pay him for it. Sometimes he loses but sometimes it is “equitable”
The draft is kinda like that- in wartime we may need more soldiers so the government goes into the draft pool and calls up youngsters to “serve” (and yes, possibly die) for their country. Some (former Presidents) even skipped the draft and left the country??
But some would argue the government “owns” our physical bodies. When in military uniform that is true… to a large degree.
This article, well written is a big eye opener. It is one thing to “serve” or “die for” your country—- it is quite another to. Die for a small group of World class oligarchs who want you to ride a bicycle so they can be ushered in an armored Suburban to their Jet where they zoom off to Davos for another meeting with big shots from other country to discuss what freedoms they are going to take from you today.
