You really need to read this down to the bottom. Preparation, preparation.
Once again.. what if, what if.. See he also recommends “ham radio” —a hint there… could be NOT a time to be transmitting on you ham radio. But listening for situational awareness? Or being ABLE to transmit concerning 911 type calls… People still gonna have heart attacks, get cut or hurt on the farm, break a leg. How many older people live alone? The list goes on as to why to have a 911 system if the 911 on your cell phone is inoperative. We have gotten so dependent on internet, phone, etc. It could be gone in an instant.
Oh.... one other thing I left out. Get to know and trust your neighbors. Your close knit community may be key to survival. Who needs help (not money) but lifting, working, caring for animals, ---older people? transportation to town? The list goes on. but in the midst of all this - Be a good neighbor. It may save your life some day.
