So many times socially, people talk about hobbies. The millenials seem to prevaricate over how well their stir bucks frappe latte is made… ask about hobbies - most involve screen games. I asked some pre teens recently “what is your hobby”???? They said “we code”.. i knew it wasn’t morse code so I responded - C++?,
People ask me - i usually respond outdoors sports (don’t want to scare liberals into thinking I am hunting or fishing and spilling innocent animal blood.) Or - I say radio. Yes ham radio. Usual response is why do that? Use a computer and inteRnet. I usually say chasing DX countries. Boy that brings a stare - huh??? Yep MORSE code key.
I stop…. Because I am socially clued in to the clueless. Let me say the average American couldn’t put their finger on Ukraine in a European map. Much less Burkina Faso, or French Australs, or Spratly Island chain. Yes i logged XT and TX5 yesterday. Nobody is on spratly chain - last “hams” got blown out of water by Chinese gunboat.
So when nuke EMP wipes out your computer or a nuke erases a major city… your silly coding hobby will be useless. Solomons ?? Yep I have made contact in the past already. But here is todays PACCom lesson.
Sounds like a plan!
I collect postage stamps from many of the places you mentioned. How about Norfolk Island, Aitukia, and Wallis & Futuna ??? A. Price
