Quoting from today’s Texmed.org………………
“Physician employers may feel caught between a rock and a hard place while trying to navigate employee vaccination policies. Federal emergency regulations continue to face court challenges, and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued an executive order in October 2021 that contradicts federal guidelines.
“We all have whiplash right now,” said Laura Goodson, a labor and employment attorney at the Austin law firm DeShazo & Nesbitt, during the latest Texas Medical Association Ask the Expert live event.
But physician employers can avoid legal fallout related to COVID-19 vaccines by establishing an exemption request process and by establishing accommodations for those who qualify”
As the kids say .. “Yeh, but………….”
Note.. the terminology “physician employers “ above. Let’s see, they are worried about the doc on the corner with four or five employees he has forced to get a shot. Yep.. as I have been saying for quite a while.. Suits are gonna happen.. and guess what — all of my “smart” doctor buddies who think I am stupid because of questioning the jabs.. Wake up dudes.. You may have a big problem.. Hint. only the Big Pharma with names and political connections are exempted through the EUA thing. Hint number two.. did you truly sit down and get informed consent for an experimental genetic drug? Or did you just wave a printed paper in front of patient and say sign here and answer no questions, or even worse did you get Susie at the front desk to include it in a sheaf of paperwork.. sign here.. and here.. and here.. and here. Yeh, you might need to talk to a lawyer…smart guy. You might want to get a history book and read about the Nuremberg trials. Remember, you really smart guys who are “PIs” (principal investigator) at hospitals working with human subjects had to study that and the Tuskegee experiment in our CDC required class.. Every three years.. or did you just have a graduate student click through all those slides? Might be worth a review as you prep with your lawyer.
On the other hand. The plaintiff lawyers aren’t so concerned with a doc who has $200,000 student debt, drives a beater, and been in practice four or five years.. He has his or her sights set on those great big institutions where all the “smart” doctors work. Those guys must have millions just floating around to go harvest in a damage suit. Heck, they pay their CEO’s 2.5 million or so.. Cause having a 2 yr MBA makes them so smart. Oh yeh, those big name hospitals aren’t protected like Pharma is either.
It’s gonna get dicey.
Yep even some of our Physician "friends" think we're stupid.
