First of all…. I am a Texan born in the Rio Grande Valley and yes we heard about a “line in the sand” in Texas History.. ALL Texans know this true history.
Secondly… After military duty, UTMB medical School, I eventually made it up the stair steps to Baylor College of Medicine (Department of Surgery) and finished a Cardiothoracic residency with Dr DeBakey and his crew of beyond outstanding surgeons almost all with military surgical time. I felt “at home.” But dang it was a tough time in terms of work etc. But did get that Parchment that had Baylor College of Medicine on it. Why is that important… oh well.. my Great Grandfather was a Dean at Baylor after the civil war. My Grandmother was a math major at Baylor and a basketball player at Baylor in 1910. And my daughters.. went to Baylor and got degrees. So yes I am proud of Baylor.
Back to Hotez… Heck I never heard of him until the press started ranting about him. Some sort of infectious disease dean or whatever… tropical medicine? But.. initially I was impressed with the plasma derived antibody treatments he was writing about. But then.. he got crazy.. and that was the line in the sand. He got on social media and started calling for the liberal provaxxers to block and destroy the “anti-vaxxers” web sites. Wait a minute you non Texan. We can argue about things here but you crossed a line dude.. not Dr., but “dude” in lower case. Yep.. calling him out right here.
Let me just say that I would be happy to see him leave Texas and Baylor and go work in Washington. We know who he is thinking about replacing… yeh right.. whatever.
But when I read Dr. McCulloughs outstanding substack and the reference to Dr Hotez’ interview with Rogan and the details about his autistic daughter.. it kinda softened my heart about him. He needs for folks to pray for him and his family. But he can take his liberal microphone up to Washington DC and join in the liberal multitude there.
Here.. you decide.
Again Doc, you have put it straight. In the RGV you replace the ez with one letter and you know what we get. That dude needs some Tejano lessons.
There's something haunting to this dude's dead eye stare. Demonic.
